Research experience

Learning by doing.

Current and completed work, with project details retained wherever possible.

Research Assistant · University of Rajshahi

Contributed to a Government of Bangladesh-funded project on social media addiction and marital satisfaction through data collection and entry in behavioral and mental health research. Co-authored 2 manuscripts submitted to Q1 journals on cardiovascular risk and health facility readiness. Currently researching childhood malnutrition, managing literature review, data analysis, visualization, and draft writing.

Independent Project on Mental Health

Conducted an independent study on teenage mental health. Designed a questionnaire using PHQ-9, GAD-7, MHI-5, and socioeconomic questions; collected data from 300 participants through purposive sampling and in-person interviews; analyzed prevalence and associated factors using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multivariable logistic regression.

Projects & manuscripts

Questions in progress.

Projects reflecting a growing focus on population health, evidence generation, and applied analysis.

Exploring sociodemographic determinants of 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease in Bangladesh

Research project examining sociodemographic factors associated with cardiovascular risk.

Assessing the readiness of health facilities to provide integrated Family Planning, Maternal, and Child Health services in Bangladesh

Health systems research focused on facility readiness for integrated maternal, child, and family planning services.

Biochar-amended soil as a short-term mitigation strategy for salinity stress in Oryza sativa seedlings

Research proposal investigating biochar as a potential short-term strategy to reduce salinity stress in rice seedlings.

Microbial Biodegradation of Plastic Waste: A Sustainable Approach to Mitigating Environmental Pollution

Original research proposal exploring engineered microbes as a route toward reducing plastic pollution.

Research training

Methods before conclusions.

Formal and intensive training supporting the research portfolio.

Research Methodologies

Completed an intensive program with 25+ guided study hours, 18 assignments, and a peer-reviewed project. Trained in interviews, focus groups, ethnography, experimental design, survey methodology, sampling, sample size determination, measurement and scaling, primary and secondary data collection, and action research.

Thematic Course: Visualizing and Communicating Information in an Emergency

Training in data visualization, dashboard design, humanitarian information products, stakeholder needs assessment, GIS versus non-GIS mapping, effective information dissemination, and Power BI dashboards.

ASI School of Life 2025 Camp

Selected through a competitive process for a fully funded research camp. Gained hands-on experience in CRISPR, PCR, bioinformatics analysis, microscopy, laboratory visits, advanced seminars, team leadership, and research proposal development.

Stanford iGEM Bioengineering Research Program

Selected from 2000+ applicants for a competitive virtual program focused on synthetic biology, molecular biology, and genetic engineering, with training in wet-lab simulations, genetic circuit design, codon optimization, cloning foundations, biotech innovation, data analysis, and cancer research.
